Fishing Classic

Held at Madden’s Resort on Saturday, June 19, the 27th annual Fishing Classic hosted 65 guided boats with known Brainerd Fishing Legends Al and Ron Lindner, Gary Roach, Nick Adams, Marv Koep, Perry Good and others fishing with more than 125 participants. The Fishing Classic is one of the largest fundraisers put on by Confidence Learning Center.

All proceeds support the Campers and programs at Confidence Learning Center, whose mission is to provide year-round outdoor recreation and education to persons of all ages with developmental disabilities and to provide opportunities for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities with language and cultural expansion, support and education. Confidence Learning Center receives no county, state, or federal monies or contracts.

Plaques are awarded to the teams with the largest catch in four categories:

Bass Division:
1st Place: 8 lbs 14 oz Brian Smude (Guide), Jessica and Michelle Block
2nd Place: 7 lbs 6 oz Bill Mathis (Guide), Dahlton Felix
3rd Place: 7 lbs 4 oz LeRoy Ras (Guide), Lauren and Scott Ras

Walleye Division:

Thank you Roy LaDoix and Joe Maurer from Pikes for Vets of Grand Rapids for picking up and filleting some 31 walleyes that added 22 lbs of filets adding to the current filet count of 123 lbs toward their goal of 200 lbs for a Veteran’s Fish Fry.
