SUMMER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES Confidence Learning Center is taking applications for the summer season. Enjoy an active summer while working outdoors with persons of all ages with developmental disabilities. Confidence Learning Center is a resort style facility providing outdoor education and recreational opportunities to families, school classes, group homes and others. Seasonal staff work closely with a professional staff of Outdoor Education Specialists. Internship opportunities are also available for college students seeking college credit. Position: Program Staff Location: Confidence Learning Center Description: Serve as a program leader for visiting groups of campers with Developmental Disabilities. Provide activity leadership with a goal of building self confidence, self esteem, encouraging social skills, and developing an appreciation for the natural environment. Dates: May 27 – Aug 22, 2008 (earlier start or later end dates available) Compensation: $3,900 (13 wks / 520 hours) + On Site Housing Responsibilities: Work as a team member to provide a safe and encouraging camp environment. Utilize the resources at CLC to facilitate camp experience for visiting groups by leading a variety of outdoor education and recreational activities. Assist with the general upkeep and development of programs. No direct care related tasks. Qualifications: Strong communication skills and the ability to independently facilitate outdoor programs for camping groups. Prior camp leadership, teaching background preferred but not necessary. Desire to share environmental knowledge and recreation interests with others. Prior experience or working knowledge of developmental disabilities a plus.
